Soul VBC started in 1992 when a few local (Central Pennsylvania) high school players were looking for a more organized form of volleyball.  During that time, there were very few high school programs in the area, and even less club teams for boys.  By forming their first team with a mere six players, they soon found out that a bunch of other players were having the same problem.  Over the course of time Soul VBC took a backseat to things like college and “the real world”, and the numbers dwindled, so the club went dormant for a few years.

After the loss of Gaumer Tool and Die as a key sponsor, a local recreational team decided it was time to revise the Soul program.  Since 5 of the original Soul founders were on the Gaumer team, it was a pretty easy task.  Over the next few years, Soul fielded teams in 4 local indoor recreational leagues, two summer beach leagues, and a slew of outdoors events like the Pottstown Rumble, East End Volleyball, and the Toyota Pro Beach tour.

Today, through it’s partnership with the Yorktowne VBC, Soul VBC has entered teams for both the KRVA juniors circuit and  teams to go to the Junior National Championships each year.  Soul VBC also sponsors numerous teams in the West Shore Recreational league.  Outdoor teams are also representing Soul this year at CIBV, EEVB, GAV and the Toyota Pro Beach tour, as well as a few other professional tours including limited AVP entries.

In 2010, Soul Volleyball will launch a new group of services ranging from court rentals (outdoor systems), beach team coaching, to running special camps and events.  We will continue to field and sponsor teams in addition to our new services.  We feel that there is a need for greater volleyball education outside of the scope that is currently offered by school programs (high school and college) and club programs.
